Speech Stuttering

What do you think about the quality of speech and language treatments for stuttering? Have you been able to overcome your stutter through the help and advice of your speech and language therapist? How many years have you speech, stuttering, stuttering therapy, been attending speech and language therapy? Well I am not sure how you have answered the above questions or what your experiences with speech therapy has been, but all I can say is that I have been less than impressed with the advice and treatments that I received. Fortunately there are now a number of more specialised therapies for stuttering in the form of one-to-one stuttering therapy courses which are conducted by people who have previously overcome a stutter.

I had a stutter for the majority of my childhood, from the ages of four and eighteen. I tried my very best to ensure that the stutter would not ruin my life however this was very hard at times. I had a number of ways of controlling the speech impediment; these included avoiding and substituting my difficult words, for example I would swop the phrase ‘can I play ‘ to ‘I would like to play’. When I was out with my friends at a local bar I would point to a particular drink rather than just saying it when attempting to order the drinks at the bar. At times when I felt less confident I would ask a friend to order the drinks on my behalf, I have some very supportive friends who were more than happy to do this for me.

I eventually, after a lot of hard work, managed to overcome the stutter in 1995 when I was aged twenty-two. Treatments for stammering and stuttering have improved tremendously since the period when I had this form of speech impediment and therapies now include the very popular stuttering courses and their associated self-help products.

As for the merits of speech and language therapy as a form of stuttering treatment, well there are not many unfortunately. Perhaps in another fifteen years it will improve, we will have to wait and see.

Stuttering Causes

Causes Of Stuttering 1 Comment »

Stuttering is a communication problem in which spoken words or sounds are involuntarily repeated, drawn out, not completed, or skipped. Stuttering is not stop stuttering, stuttering helpunusual in young children between ages 2 and 7 years. Stuttering that begins during a child’s intensive language-learning years and resolves on its own sometime before puberty is called normal disfluency. It is considered a normal phase of language development. Developmental stuttering is a speech problem that persists, gets worse over time, and causes embarrassment or discomfort.

Stuttering affects the fluency of speech. It begins during childhood and, in some cases, lasts throughout life. The disorder is characterized by disruptions in the production of speech sounds, also called "disfluencies." Most people produce brief disfluencies from time to time. For instance, some words are repeated and others are preceded by "um" or "uh." Disfluencies are not necessarily a problem; however, they can impede communication when a person produces too many of them.

Types

Developmental stuttering evolves before puberty, usually between two and five years of age, without apparent brain damage or other known cause (’idiopathic’). It is important to distinguish between this persistent developmental stuttering (PDS), which we focus on here, and acquired stuttering. Neurogenic or acquired stuttering occurs after a definable brain damage, e.g., stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, or head trauma. It is a rare phenomenon that has been observed after lesions in a variety of brain areas.

Neurogenic stuttering is a type of fluency disorder in which a person has difficulty in producing speech in a normal, smooth fashion. Individuals with fluency disorders may have speech that sounds fragmented or halting, with frequent interruptions and difficulty producing words without effort or struggle. Neurogenic stuttering typically appears following some sort of injury or disease to the central nervous system i.e. the brain and spinal cord, including cortex, subcortex, cerebellar, and even the neural pathway regions.

The growing consensus is that many factors influence stuttering. Current theories suggest that it arises due to a combination of several genetic and environmental influences. Some elements currently being examined include motor skills, language skills, and temperament. It is presumed that a child experiences disruptions in speech production due to an interaction among these (and presumably other) factors.

Stuttering may also occur with repetitive gestures or unusual mannerisms, such as exaggerated blinking or tension around the mouth. This is more likely to occur when stuttering is severe or getting worse. These symptoms often indicate that the speaker is aware of and embarrassed by his or her stuttering.

What causes stuttering?
The exact mechanical causes of stuttering are not completely understood, but it is thought to be a hereditary condition.

Who stutters?
It is estimated that over three million Americans stutter. Stuttering affects individuals of all ages but occurs most frequently in young children between the ages of 2 and 6 who are developing language. Boys are three times more likely to stutter than girls. Most children, however, outgrow their stuttering, and it is estimated that less than 1 percent of adults stutter.

Stuttering Therapy
There is no cure for stuttering, but treatments for stuttering can include: Electronic devices based on the technique of choral speech or the choral effect, in which everything a stuttering person is saying is matched by another person, like people singing in a chorus or choir. Electronic devices that can be placed in a stuttering child’s ear can actually replay what the child is saying after a very brief delay, mimicking the choral effect and decreasing or even eliminating a child’s stuttering.

Causes Of Stuttering 1 Comment »

Joe Biden has stated that he has managed to overcome a speech impediment. He had a stutter when he was younger but has been able to eradicate it from his speech and is now able to talk fluently. It is reported that around one percent of the population have a stutter and hearing yet another person openly talk about how they have been able to achieve fluency will give these people great hope for the future.

When searching for information about stuttering people will often receive mixed messages. People like Biden will talk about how they have cured their stutter whilst on another website it will state that you can not overcome a stutter. Unfortunately there is a lot of rubbish written about the whole subject of stuttering which is normally on blogs written by people who have a stutter themselves. It is as if they are jealous about the people who have managed to achieve fluency.

Instead of feeling jealous perhaps they could learn about how these people did manage to stop stuttering and about the character required to achieve fluency. To become more positive would be a good starting point. In reality these people have perhaps just become disillusioned with life after receiving a poor standard of treatment by the traditional speech therapists. I personally believe that these types of people should keep their own frustrations to themselves. Just because they have been unable to overcome their stutter, for whatever reason this might be, does not mean that they should discourage other people from doing so.

There are numerous forms of treatment out there for people who are interested in overcoming their stutter. These range from one-to-one speech courses to self-help e-books and DVD’s.

Whichever form of stuttering therapy a person decides to take up will require their full commitment and dedication. It is far from easy to overcome a stutter and their is no quick fix. It requires patience, hard work, practice and a positive attitude.

Overcoming Fear Of Speaking

Causes Of Stuttering 2 Comments »

Do you have a speech problem or speech impediment? I have managed to phobia of speaking, overcome a stutter which had had a major negative affect on my life for eighteen years. This article describes about how to overcome a speech problem and how to achieve fluency.

According to recent figures around one percent of British people suffer from the speech impediment known as stuttering. Stuttering can also be known in some regions as stammering.

I myself had a stutter from the age of four and during the period when I had the speech impediment, I had a fear of certain words beginning with certain letters. Any words which began with "b" were especially hard to say. I also had a fear saying words which began with d, v, g, and p. The way I would cope with these words was by either avoiding them or by findng an alternative word to say. This was not always easy and these difficult words were always on my mind. My goal was to eventually be able to say all words without any fear.

Many different situations would be affected by the stutter, for example I found job interviews very stressful as I would stutter more when I was under pressure.

At the age of sixteen, I became drunk for the first time. The results were quite amazing as I could now talk really well. The alcohol had given me a huge but somewhat false confidence boost. The fear of stuttering disappeared and the words began to flow.

Unfortunately the fluency did not continue in the morning. Feeling very tired and hungover, my speech impediment returned in a big way. The previous nights experience had though, for the first time given me a belief that one day I could possibly eradicate my stutter.

It goes without saying that you should not be in a permanent drunken physical state, however that what I needed to do was to be in a permanently drunk mental state, for example I had to stop worrying so much.

There are many forms of stutter treatments out there including tradional speech therapy, group speech courses, one to one speech courses and even hypnotherapy. I personally believe that the way to go is one to one speech courses as every person who has a stutter is an individual and has an individual stutter.

There is also self help stuttering therapies available via stuttering ebooks and dvds.

What Causes Stuttering

Causes Of Stuttering 1 Comment »

Thirteen years ago when I was aged twenty-two I managed to overcome a stutter that had affected my life for the previous eighteen years. It took me speech disordersjust under a year to achieve fluency and I have to admit that it was far from easy. Since managing to eradicate this most frustrating form of speech impediment from my life I have enjoyed living life as a fluent person, free from that constant fear of stammering and stuttering.

One question that I am asked on a frequent basis is:

What causes people to develop a stutter?

I ask a similar question to the people who contact me with regards to helping them eradicate their speech impediment.

Have you any idea as to why you developed a stutter?

The answers are very varied. The most common is the belief that they think it runs in the family, many people have a parent and also grandparent who also have or had a stutter.

Other causes include:

They developed a stutter in reaction to a major shock, a car crash for example.

They developed a stutter due to a family break up.

They developed a stutter due to an over-aggressive teacher.

They developed a stutter due to bullying.

They developed a stutter due to a mental break down.

They developed a stutter due to a stroke.

There are also those who have absolutely no idea as to why they developed a speech impediment.

I personally preferred to concentrate on finding a cure for stuttering rather than look for the causes of stuttering, that is just me I guess.

Where possible it can be of benefit to find what caused the stutter in the first place however the main focus, in my opinion should be spent on working hard to eliminate the stutter.

Why Do People Stutter?

Causes Of Stuttering 1 Comment »

Reasons Why People Stutter

I have been asked many times, why certain people develop a stutter. I personally believe there are many reasons and this article describes some of them and gives examples of why certain people of whom I have met via my occupation, started to stutter.

I myself had the speech impediment, known as a stutter for eighteen years, it started to ruin my life from the age of four. After successfully overcoming the stutter at the age of twenty-two, I now as a career help other people to achieve fluency. As you can imagine, I have therefore met and helped many people who stutter, and always ask them, how and why in their opinion their stutter started.

Quite a few people are not sure, however other people state the following reasons:

It was triggered after a traumatic event

It runs in the family

They copied a friend at school who had a stutter and then it stuck with them

An over aggressive relative

Because they were left handed!

A couple of years ago, I had a female client who told me about how she had developed a stutter. She was able to talk fluently until the age of twenty-four. She then fell pregnant for the first time, and was very excited about the prospect of becoming a mum.

She was apprehensive about the birth and her friends had been winding her up by telling her how painful the experience is. She knew that they were only teasing and tried to ignore their comments.

The day of the birth arrived and unfortunately the delivery was particulary difficult and very painful. This really shocked and traumatised her, she had never imagined that it could have been that bad. After the birth of the baby, who was a healthy boy, she developed a stutter. fear of stuttering

Not all people who stutter have it from an early age, another one of my clients was fluent until the age of nineteen. At this age he had a car crash and this was the trigger for him to start stuttering.

Stuttering Information

Causes Of Stuttering 2 Comments »

I am one of many people who are unfortunate enough to develop a speech impediment in childhood. This article describes why these impediments may occur and how I went about achieving fluency. For the purpose of this article, I concentrate on the speech impediment known as stuttering.

There are many reasons why people may develop a stutter, it can be as a result of bullying from school, an over aggressive member of the family, a shock reaction to an event such as a car crash, or it could be passed down from another member of the family who has a stutter.

I have met many people who stutter as I now help people to achieve fluency as a career. I always ask them to talk about how and why their stutter started. The reasons above are the type of answers I receive.

Stuttering normally originates in childhood and nine out of ten people who stutter are men. Around 1% of the population has a stutter according to recent reports.

I have now managed to beat my stutter which had basically ruined my life for eighteen years. When I had a stutter, I found it difficult to say certain words beginning with certain letters. I would always avoid these words or I would think of an alternative word to say.

Aged twenty-two I decided it was time to try to overcome my communication problems. I started to observe what I called very good fluent talkers, I was watching and trying to work out how they were talking and breathing. I also tried to find differences between their speech and my own. I also started to read books about things like, positive thinking and mind over matter as I also realised I needed to change the way I was thinking.

After nearly a year of working and practicing very hard, I managed to overcome my stutter, much to my relief. As a career I now help other people to achieve fluency by running one to one speech courses from my home in Birmingham. A also offer a self help ebook and seventy minute dvd for people who are unable to attend the courses.

Stuttering In Toddlers

Causes Of Stuttering 1 Comment »

stuttering 3 year old,stuttering child

Some parents have the shock of hearing their young child start to stutter as a toddler. I am somebody who runs a speech centre in Birmingham, England, I now help people to achieve fluency.

I met a lady who was thirty and her little boy aged four had been stuttering for quite a while. She had taken him to speech therapy and was extremely anxious as to why he was stuttering. It had possibly started because the toddlers father had quite a severe stutter, the boy may of picked up the bad habits this way.

Many other people contact me asking why their toddler has developed a stutter and asking what forms of stuttering treatments are available.

I always suggest that they keep as patient as they can and try to play games, speech games with their child. They can challenge the child to say the word fluently, they show their child how it should be said and then bet them that they can’t do it themselves. When they do manage to say that particular word fluently they then heap lots of praise onto the child, telling them how clever they are and how proud mommy and daddy are of them. I even advise giving them an award like a small chocolate bar.

If instead of being patient parents or relatives are aggressive, saying things like: "Get your words boy" "Spit it out!" These types of comments can have a very negative effect and make that child withdraw into their shell. This may to

some people seem very obvious to say, however you would not believe the amount of people who have told me this is what they were told as an infant.

Stuttering and Lazy Tongue Improved with Stress Management Hypnosis Techniques

Symptoms of stuttering and lazy tongue can greatly be reduced with basic hypnosis works, hypnosis techniquesstress management and hypnosis techniques.

Symptoms of stuttering and lazy tongue or twisted tongue can greatly be improved with basic stress management technique and hypnosis.

The phrase "lazy tongue," which I coined, basically speaks for itself. When the affected person attempts to speak, it seems that the tongue is lazy, twisted and simply doesn’t move fast enough to enunciate what is spoken. The result is slurred speech and or stuttering. It often feels as though the twisted tongue is enlarged and because of this feeling it is often easy to bite the tongue or the side of the mouth–rather painful.

Typically stuttering is not necessarily associated with a lazy tongue, but more often simply stuttering is associated with excessive tension in the mouth. Whereas one can begin suffering from lazy tongue at any age, stuttering is often left over from child hood.

The issues surrounding both lazy tongue and stuttering are similar. Stuttering is often associated with a less than healthy self image resulting from a conditioning experience of an embarrassing nature as a youngster, or having an overbearing and critical parent. Lazy tongue, on the other hand, is usually the result of a major stressor such as loss of a marriage, death of a loved one, loss of a job…

With both stuttering and lazy tongue, there is a situation of low self esteem. However, a boost in self esteem (although helpful) usually will not solve either problem without stress management intervention.

For example, Carl was 19 years of age and away at college. Stuttering since elementary school he successfully stopped all stuttering within three weeks of stress management training. He returned home over semester break and promised his father to clean the garage one Saturday.

Carl became distracted and never got around to fulfilling his promise. His dad came home from work later on Saturday, noticed the garage wasn’t cleaned, and called Carl a "stupid shit," for not cleaning the garage. Carl’s stuttering returned instantly.

This is a case of having an overbearing, over critical parent who in combination with the son’s sensitive nature, contributed to his son’s stuttering which often makes overcoming stuttering a two part program.

1. Using basic stress management skills involving deep rhythmic breathing, and muscle tensing relaxation exercises for the various muscles of the jaw, mouth, and tongue.

The deep breathing into the diaphragm is for composure. The muscle exercises are to stretch the jaw in various directions, stretch the tongue and press it against various locations in the mouth. It also involves tensing the facial muscles. Each time the muscles are tensed, they are tensed to the point of extreme discomfort–almost to the point of fatigue. Then the tension is then released and self mental programming is done as to which feelings are preferred and which are disliked.

2. Self hypnotic affirmations are used to change the perspective so as to build confidence and create building self esteem. Focus is on dealing with the emotions of rejection, disappointment, and frustration. Through hypnosis the individual moves to embrace the emotion and then move beyond it to somehow benefit from the experience.

An enlightened approach to stuttering and lazy tongue involves more than one approach. Whereas many programs only focus on the mechanical, you wonder why the obvious self esteem issues are left out or only dealt with in passing. It’s clearly a mistake to ignore either the stress management or the self esteem issues. Doing the physical exercises and dealing with the mental issues of building self esteem produces real results.

Causes Of Stuttering 1 Comment »

I developed a stutter at the age of four and this speech impediment was to plague my life for the next eighteen years. I often felt quite isolated during stuttering symptomsthis period of my life as it seemed as if I was the only one in my area and the only person in my school who had a stutter.

In reality the only people that would ever truly be able to understand what I was going through, having to live life in this way, would be other people that had a stutter. I therefore had nobody to talk to as I did not know of any other people who had this form of speech impediment.

A child who is bullied at school for being overweight is likely to have a other people in their school who are also obese who they can therefore talk to about their problems. Similarly a child who is picked on because they wear glasses will probably have numerous other people in the school who also wear glasses who they can speak with. But for me I was the only one in my school that had a stutter, I was very much alone and felt extremely isolated because of it.

As for the treatments and therapies for stuttering, perhaps we should not go there. Let’s just go as far as to say that I was asked to attend speech therapy sessions run by speech therapists that had never had a stutter! Says it all really doesn’t it?

I had to attend therapy classes which were run by people who had no idea what it is like to have a stutter and people who believed that there is not a known cure for stuttering. Well that was just tops! What hope did I have?

Thirteen years ago I successfully eradicated the stutter from my speech and I am now pleased to announce that I am a fully fledged member of the fluency club!

Help For Stuttering

Causes Of Stuttering 1 Comment »

Do you want help for stuttering? If the answer was yes, then you are reading the right article!. As a previous stutterer also, I understand first hand, how fears of public speakingtough it may be attempting to seek help for stuttering and not having much success looking for it! The internet is a vast domain of digital info, alas it looks like help for stuttering might be one field that it seems to be deficient in.

In this article, I’d like to share with everyone a few tips that were of help to me in reducing my stuttering.

1.) Prior to you beginning to speak, try taking a slow and deep breath. I understand that this is easier said then applied, but try your best to avoid worrying that you may stutter. Truth be told, the more often you worry about it, the more you will find yourself stuttering.

2.) I’m sure you’ve watched the news before, and noticed how those TV anchors speak in a low tone from the chest and emphasize every syllable? You may find this silly, but I actually tried imitating this and found that I tended to stutter less. Later on, I realized that this is no coincidence. By taking the sound away from our problem areas, which happens to be our vocal chords and mouth, stutterers will stutter less often.

3.) The next time you say want to say something, take a quick second and rehearse what you are about to say in your mind before you begin to say it out loud.

These 3 tips, helped me to get my stuttering issue under control.
Help for stuttering is difficult to find, these techniques if applied conscientiously will assist you in reducing your stuttering greatly. However, it should be noted that this is not a complete cure.

Solving Stuttering

We often encounter in our lives people who have speech impediments. But the most common among these speech impediments is stuttering, a condition which, is caused by stress and anxiety starting from the person’s developmental stages. In fact, studies show that more and more adults and kids suffer from speech impediments such as stuttering because it is not addressed properly during the early stages of growth.

As these kids grow up, stuttering becomes a problem because it hinders them from communicating properly not only with their peers but to people across all age brackets. People who stutter often times find it hard to communicate with people that can speak normally because they are afraid of rejection, it’s up to people who are lucky enough to speak clearly to understand these people who are not as good as them with words.

Day-to-day struggle due to stuttering

Stuttering is indeed a very serious problem for young and old people. With stuttering problems, simple daily tasks like saying their names when somebody asks for it, answering the telephone for a call or making a phone call, giving out directions for people asking, asking for specific instructions, and even ordering a meal from a fast-food store can be hugely disappointing and frustrating.

People who suffer from stuttering experience being ostracized in the society just because they cannot speak well. This inability of self expression makes other people irritated at times so the tendency is for the stutter to veer away from the crowd as much as possible. In a school setting, studies show that other children who don’t have problems in speech are bullying almost 90 percent of kids who are stuttering.

This bullying happens everywhereinside the classroom during a recitation, inside the canteen during recess or snack break, within the campus during break hours, and even outside the school when classes are over. This is because many kids find stuttering funny and they would want to make fun of stutters without realizing its adverse effects on their peers.

In work places, adults who stutter also experience the same kind of exclusion. Many people don’t usually mingle with stutters because they feel that it’s such a waste of time talking to somebody who cannot express him or herself freely and fluidly. The tendency is that the person who suffers from stuttering will become an introvert, avoiding crowds and people just to be spared from being teased and ridiculed.

The components of the society can play a major role in solving the stuttering problems among kids and adults. First of all, the parents themselves can greatly help their kids overcome this condition by giving them guidance and all kinds of support that they need. Parents must make their kids understand that stuttering does not make them less of a person and that they should not feel intimated by others.

Parents must also emphasize that a child’s dreams, desires, and talents should determine the focus of their future and not their stuttering. When parents motivate their children to dream high and have high hopes for the future, when they tell their kids that even the most successful people are sick in a way just like themthe kids will be encouraged to do better and be better in all aspects of their lives.

For teachers, they should always make the child feel secure and understood whenever he or she is inside the classroom. They should avoid pressuring the child who is stuttering because the more pressure he or she feels the bigger room for mistake there is. Teachers should always act as the second parents of children in school, providing them all the support, care, and understanding they need.

The society at large can also greatly help people who are suffering from stuttering by giving them proper respect and treating them as normal people who equally deserve the rights and freedom they enjoy.

When Will This Stuttering Nightmare End?

stop stutter,stuttering ear

Below is a poem that I wrote about the subject of stuttering when I was aged fourteen. My father presented me with the poem during a recent family "get together". He had kept it safe for fully twenty-one years! Thanks dad.

When Will This Stuttering Nightmare End?

Today was a struggle
My speech was poor at best
It was funny for a few
I will prey for them

I will not let this stutter get me down
I will survive
There will be many tough days ahead
Fluency is the goal, it will be attained

The mockers can mock
The fools may laugh
The doubters can doubt
I will prove them all wrong

Ignore the negative speech therapists
Ignore the negative stuttering therapy blogs
Ignore the negative so called specialists
I will overcome this stutter

Am I unlucky?
Have I been dealt a poor hand of cards?
Have I had a tough life?
No, I just have a speech impediment

I have a plan
I will not stutter for the rest of my life
I am willing to work very hard
I will achieve fluency

I have had the stutter since the age of four
That is ten years of pain
Speech therapy has not helped
The stutter has in fact been getting even more severe

Is there anyone out there who can help me?
I am willing to travel
I am willing to work hard
I just want hope

I am now very pleased to report that I managed to overcome the stutter when I was aged twenty-two, that was thirteen yearsago.

  speech stuttering

Are you looking to find tips and tricks to cure stuttering? Are you determined to overcome your stutter once and for all? Is your stutter ruining your life? These are questions which I would have answered in the positive when I was aged twenty-two. I had been stuttering for eighteen years at this stage and had had just about as much as I could take. I was desperate to find a solution to my stuttering problems as I just knew that my life would improve one hundred percent if I could manage to achieve fluency.

I had tried numerous forms of treatments for stuttering including the more traditional forms of speech therapy. These, as you can no doubt tell, were not to prove beneficial and therefore my frustration continued.

The stutter impacted on every single aspect of my life and was the one thing that was constantly on my mind. Most people constantly think of sex, I constantly thought about stuttering! Weird or what? If you have a stutter then I am sure you will understand!

At the age of twenty-two I decided to take the bull by the horns, I was going to attempt to find my own cure to stuttering. Yes I know this sounds crazy, but crazy I am.

I was extremely fortunate as I had a superb support network. My family and friends vowed to help me every step of the way, they were true to their word.

With this most welcome support and my massive determination I had every chance of attaining my dream of fluency. I am more than happy to report that after working very hard for around one year that I was able to eradicate the stutter.

Treatments For Stuttering

speech therapy for stuttering, speech therapy for stuttering

Over 3% of the American population has a stuttering problem. If you tend to stutter, it is important to realize that you are not alone. Stuttering is a treatable speech impairment, and you should not feel that there is no hope or that there is nothing that you can do about it. If my personal story can help you feel some reassurance, I stuttered severely throughout most of my life. However, I never gave up on trying to improve my fluency and was eventually able to learn how to stop stuttering. I am going to explain and help you become familiar with some of the treatments for stuttering available to you.

By the time you finish reading this article, you will have a better idea of what your options are for treatments and hopefully will be able to decide what option is right for you.

1.) Therapy For Stuttering: Therapy is probably the most common form, out of all the treatments for stuttering available. It is most effective if started at a young age, to correct stuttering at it’s early development. However, many adults who start therapy are still able to at least significantly reduce their stuttering if unable to cure it entirely.

2.) Drug Therapy: Drug therapy is becoming an increasingly more popular form of treatment. This is one method that I don’t like and advise you to use only as a last resort. Despite it’s growing popularity, it is widely considered ineffective. The FDA has yet to actually approve any drug specifically for the use of treating stuttering. Most of the drugs prescribed for this purpose, are actually for anxiety or depression.

3.) Stuttering Devices: The use of stuttering devices, is by far the newest out of all the treatments for stuttering. It seems that many people seem to claim that these devices do in fact work. However, this is not to be considered an actual cure because if you stop using the device you will continue to stutter again. Also, the price tag on these devices are around $2,000-$3,000.

I hope you have found this article helpful, and have a better idea of the treatments for stuttering.
